Pinellas County Board of Commissioners District 1 - At Large
Seven commissioners sit on the Board of County Commissioners (The Board). Three of the commissioners are at-large, meaning they are elected by all county residents, and the remaining four commissioners are elected from single-member districts. The Board governs all unincorporated areas of the county, and is responsible for setting the millage rate (the amount of tax levied on real estate or other property) for the entire county. The Board approves the budgets of the Clerk of the Circuit Court, the Sheriff, and the Supervisor of Elections, and serves as the Emergency Medical Services authority, the Fire Protection authority, the Countywide Planning authority, the Water & Navigation Control authority, and also manages countywide Mosquito Control Services.
