Safety Harbor Mayor
The Safety Harbor Commission operates under a Council-Manager form of government. Under this form of government, the Commission provides legislative direction while the City Manager is responsible for day-to-day administrative operations of the city. The Safety Harbor Commission consists of four Commissioners and the Mayor, all of whom are elected on a city-wide basis. The Mayor and Commissioners are responsible for setting policy, approving the budget, and determining the tax rate. In addition to his duties as a commission member, the Mayor is recognized as the political head of the municipality but does not have the power to veto legislative actions.
