2020 Primary Election Guide
Precinct Committee Persons
The role of Precinct Committee Persons (PCPs) is to establish a direct link between their political party and the voters in a precinct by coordinating volunteers and activities in their precinct in order to reach more voters through voter registration, canvassing, phone banking and various party-sponsored events. These positions are also governed by the bylaws of their respective parties.
Some ballots may include these races, even though PCPs are not considered actual political candidates. In presidential election years, these positions are up for election in every voting precinct within Pinellas County. However, PCPs only appear on the ballot in those precincts where the number of individuals who qualify to run is greater than the number of available PCP positions.
